Position:  Transfer Driver (Team 7 – Delta) –  (Temporary – 12 month contract, possibility for extension)

Schedule: 4 X 10 | Floater | Nights

Pay: Starting rate of $42.00 per hour.

Position Overview

The successful applicant for this position will be mainly responsible for the delivery of trailers over established routes to be based out of Delta but will also be doing duties related to a Swamper, Delivery Service Representative, and Yard Jockey as required. The successful applicant will be compensated by the daily contract rate for Transfers. 

Duties & Responsibilities

The Transfer Driver will be responsible for transferring Delta trailers to areas in the Interior as per business needs. The Transfer Driver is expected to operate the vehicle in a safe manner at all times, obeying all rules and regulations of the road, and following all appropriate company policies and procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract

• LCV Certification Required (In-house Training Provided for Successful Applicants)

• (Min. 2 years of driving experience; Min. 150kms driven on a tractor trailer)

• Eligibility for bonding and transportation of dangerous goods (TDG) certification

• Excellent customer service skills

• Excellent communication and time management skills 

• Safe operation of all equipment and Strong mechanical aptitude

• A high-level of integrity and a strong work ethic, able to work with little supervision and be self directed

• Professional demeanor under stressful situations

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to lift, load, push, pull and carry items  up to 60 lbs

• Professional demeanor and customer service focus 

• Ability to work independently as well as assist team members when necessary  

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• No Formal written discipline

• Availability for nights and weekends
