Recipe Preparation

  1. Combine masa harina and salt together in a bowl. 
  2. Add warm water until it holds together and forms into a smooth dough.
  3. Potion dough into 12 and form dough into balls. 
  4. place balls onto parchment paper and flatten to 1/2-inch thick circles.
  5. Fry sopes into a 400°F (204°C) deep fryer until golden brown on each side. Remove from fryer and cool on a wire rack.
  6. Once cooled, pinch the edges of the sopes to form a little pie shell.
  7. Fry the sopes again until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Drain and serve accordingly.
