Reporting to the IFS Business Change Manager – West, the Prairies Sales Trainer will partner with leadership and the national training team to lead learning and development. You will play a key role in creating, implementing, and conducting training that is aimed to help the sales teams achieve their sales and career goals.

Location: Edmonton or Calgary, AB

Note:  This is a hybrid role with the expectation to be at the Distribution Centre office 4 days a week.

Essential Functions:

  • Assess organizational training and development needs through surveys, interviews and communication with team members.

  • Stay up to date with the latest trends in learning & development

  • Create, organize, plan, and present various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills training.

  • Develop and acquire unique training plans and materials to fulfill the specific needs of our team members.

  • Use various learning formats including in-person and virtual training, experiential/simulations, and videos.

  • Maintain training & development KPIs and evaluate program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.

  • Participates in the National Training Council to develop and maintain training materials for the sales force.

  • Delivers Gordon Food Service training and tracks in the Learning Management System and provides expertise and training to others utilizing the learning management system (LMS).

  • Occasional travel required.

 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Associate Degree in Adult Education is an asset

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Business or a related field preferred

  • Two years previous communications or training and development experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

  • Ability to communicate effectively with excellent presentation skills

  • Ability to analyze complex problems/situations and provide recommendations and solutions

  • Ability to translate strategic initiatives into concrete objectives and action plans

  • Ability to develop presentations, and skills using audio/visual equipment for presentations

  • Ability to interact with all levels of management to facilitate group discussions and convey company programs and training

  • Experience in training both in-person and remote teams

  • Knowledge of current industry trends
