Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Transportation, the Fleet Manager is responsible for the Edmonton and Northern Saskatchewan fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitors compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations related to vehicle and equipment maintenance. Maintains necessary files and reports.
Coordinates with vendors regarding scheduling of maintenance and repairs for both owned and leased equipment.
Monitors department adherence to safety standards and maintains a program to ensure cleanliness of vehicles.
Contributes to the development of fleet procedures and best practices to improve service and profitability.
Collaborates with the Edmonton transportation leadership team to develop the annual operational fleet budget for the department.
Routinely monitors, manages and controls expenses, analyzes variances and takes appropriate action and develops plans for productivity improvements.
Demonstrate servant leadership to our Edmonton and Northern Saskatchewan Transportation teams, and lead a group of Shunters at the Edmonton distribution centre.
Other duties as assigned.
Manage fleet km between equipment to keep them balanced.
Education, Skills & Competencies:
Minimum 2 years of leadership experience.
Minimum 3 years previous experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance is preferred.
Ability to build relationships and interact effectively with all levels and departments within Gordon Food Service, as well as with external vendors.
Results orientated and delivers results on time as expected.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.
Strong business acumen.
Must have the ability to multitask, prioritize and work independently or within a team environment.
Excellent customer service orientation.
