Shift: Sunday – Thursday 2pm – 10pm
Position Summary:
This role will report to the Loading Supervisor and be responsible for assisting with the unloading and sorting pallets, cleaning, and preparing of trailers for loading. Additional general warehouse responsibilities may also be required on occasion.
Compensation:
Pallet Maintenance roles are paid hourly and can earn additional incentives based on productivity, safety, and sanitation. Hourly rate is as follows $24.17.
Specific Responsibilities and Functions:
Sorting and palletizing milk crates and product returns
Cleaning returning trailers and trucks
Recycling plastics and cardboard
Sweeping, mopping & ramp cleaning in all warehouse zones as required or assigned
Safe operation of power equipment including single pallet power jacks and dockstockers
Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations and Food Safety programs.
Adhere to the GFS Cornerstone Values and company policies and procedures.
All other duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Must be able to work independently or within a team environment
Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimum supervision
Positive attitude with good communication skills.
Adhere to the mission and Cornerstone Values and applicable practices of the organization
Some lifting required (up to 50 lb)
Working Conditions:
Exposure to three (3) different temperature zones within the warehouse.
Grocery area in the warehouse is room temperature; varies from cold in the winter and warm in the summer.
Cooler area in the warehouse is approximately 1 or 2 degrees C.
Freezer area in the warehouse is approximately –15 degrees C. Some areas of the freezer can get as low as -23 degrees C.
Moderate noise level.
Must be able to lift up to 90lbs, however average lifting weight between 25lbs – 30lbs.
Repetitive motion from lifting and strain.
Will regularly be required to stand, walk and lift above and below shoulder levels.
Frequently required to use hands and arms to reach and grasp products.
Required to have a high degree of concentration and alertness.
Additional Details:
Employees are hired on a full-time basis. However, given the nature of the position, an employee’s hours of work will be irregular.
During peak seasons, scheduled overtime is required, and may include up to 13 hour shifts.
There is a 30-minute paid lunch for an 8-hour shift and 40-minute paid lunch for a 10-hour shift.
