Position Summary:
The Class 1 Transit Driver is responsible for hauling trailers to and from Lethbridge 5 nights a week.Ā Shifts will vary depending on business needs and may include weekends.

Essential Functions:
Operate and drive tractor trailers to transport goods and materials over and rural routes
Conduct routine truck inspections to ensure safety requirements are met by performing pre/post trip inspections
Ensure loaded trailer is delivered on time from the Warehouse to Lethbridge
Maintain records of delivery routes, temperature logs, count sheets, truck information and customer invoices
Follow all GFS Canada policies and procedures including all
Provide exceptional service to customers and build/maintain quality customer relationships.
Should be self-motivated, punctual, energetic and be able to work with a diverse customer group
Able to maintain composure in high pressure situations
Driving of the Truck/tractor to locations = 80%
Physically handling of the product = 10%
Customer Service = 5%
Administration/paper work = 5%
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Possession of valid Class 1 license is a MUST
A minimum of 1 year of experience driving Long Combination Vehicle (LCV) is a MUST
Able to read, write and communicate in English effectively
Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimum supervision.
Excellent focus and attention to detail and have effective problem solving skills
Knowledge in manual transmission is an asset.
Experience in driving in winter is an advantage.
