We are looking for a Human Resource Generalist to join our team of six in Delta to oversee and assist with Human Resources initiatives, specifically for the operations groups. This position will report to the Human Resources Manager in Delta.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Business Hours with flexibility (4 days in office, 1 remote)
Benefits:
The compensation package for this position ranges from $64,000 to $75,000 on an annual basis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performance Management and Employee Relations
Educates and consults leadership on the Performance Management process, understands and leverages HRIS (Workday) for Talent Management, coaches employees and managers on employee relations performance, practice or policy issues, promotes the open door policy.
Responds to, investigates and determines course of action for complaints from GFS employees or others in regards to Gordon Food Service.
Learning and Development
Educates and assists leaders on the GFS Leadership Development initiatives.
Facilitates training and monitors required leadership training and development for completion and effectiveness.
Compliance
Ensures compliance with all federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations
Maintains HR records and documentation, internal communications channels & tools
Compensation, Benefits & Payroll
Plans and supports benefits enrollment processes as well as educating employees and leaders on GFS retirement plans, benefits and wellness initiatives.
Supports Compensation planning and payroll through the use of our HRIS System; Workday
Diversity and Inclusion
Understands and promotes GFS Diversity and Inclusion Vision and Guiding Principles
Implements Diversity & Inclusion Communication, events and knowledge sharing
Orientation & Training
Plan and facilitate bi-weekly orientation for all new employees
Facilitate training sessions and assign training to employees as needed
Recruiting Strategy
Delivers interview skills training to managers.
Facilitates internal job posting and transfers

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Human Resources education and 2 years related experience
Working towards CPHR
Experience in a unionized environment is an asset
