Gordon Food Service Announces New Chief Financial Officer

Wyoming, MI, February 8, 2024 – Gordon Food Service, a privately held and family-managed foodservice distributor with operations in the U.S. and Canada, today announced the retirement of its Chief Financial Officer, Jeff Maddox, and the appointment of his successor, Ryan Fischer.

Jeff joined Gordon Food Service in 1999 as its Director of Internal Audit, then went on to become its Director of Corporate Development, and has served for the last 20 years as its Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Gordon Food Service, Jeff spent over nine years in public accounting—most recently with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Jeff has practiced accounting in both Michigan and Illinois and is a member of the AICPA. 

Ryan joined Gordon Food Service in 2019 bringing experience in accounting, finance, and auditing roles at several large privately held companies in the Grand Rapids area. In his current role, he leads several groups within the finance department including General Accounting, Capital Asset Management, Inventory Accounting, Tax and Treasury. He holds a Master of Accounting from Grand Valley State University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Calvin College. He is a certified public accountant and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
