Gordon Food Service, a privately held and family-managed foodservice distributor with operations in the U.S. and Canada, today announced the appointment of three new members to the Gordon Food Service board of directors:
- Brooke Elliott, EY Distinguished Professor and Head, Department of Accountancy, University of Illinois, Champaign IL
- Tommy Gordon, Director of Partnerships and Pipeline, Relish Works, Chicago IL
- Peter McLaughlin, Managing Director, Anne of Green Gables Chocolates, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada
Brooke Elliot grew up in Bedford, Indiana where she excelled in academics and athletics. She earned her BS and MBA degrees at Indiana University and her Ph.D. in accounting at the University of Washington. She heads the University of Illinois’s highly rated accountancy department that offers undergraduate, masters and doctoral education programs in accounting.
Tommy Gordon grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He graduated from Hope College then worked in development and fundraising for several nonprofit organizations in Colorado. At Relish Works, Gordon Food Service’s innovation center in Chicago, Tommy brings together external partners with internal innovation strategies to develop products, services, and tools for the benefit of Gordon Food Service and its customers.
Peter McLaughlin was born on Prince Edward Island. He earned his BS degree from St. Francis Xavier University and his master’s degree from the University of New Brunswick. Prior to joining Green Gables Chocolates, he was with Loblaw Companies Limited, Canada’s largest food retailer with food distribution divisions across the country, for nearly 20 years. His roles included President, Emerging Business Division and senior vice president of several businesses including National Wholesale and Deli, Home Meal Replacement & Bakery.
