Position Summary:
This role will report to the Selection Supervisor and be responsible for assisting with the unloading, cleaning, and preparing of trailers for loading. Additional general warehouse responsibilities may also be required on occasion.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Sorting and palletizing milk crates and product returns
Cleaning returning trailers and trucks
Recycling plastics and cardboard
Sweeping, mopping & ramp cleaning in all warehouse zones as required or assigned
Safe operation of power equipment including single pallet power jacks.
Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations and Food Safety programs.
Adhere to the GFS Cornerstone Values and company policies and procedures.
All other duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Must be able to work independently or within a team environment
Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimum supervision.
Positive attitude with good communication skills.
Adhere to the mission and Cornerstone Values and applicable practices of the organization.
Must be able to lift up to 50lb.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to work in multiple temperature zones including cooler (0°C to 4°C) and freezer (-20°C to -30°C) environments, employees must be prepared to work in all warehouse temperature zones
Must be able to handle all types of food products including fresh: seafood, beef, pork, produce, nuts, spices, milk, eggs, etc.
Steel toe (CSA approved) footwear is required at all times in the warehouse.
Ability to continuously stand for long periods of time.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma (preferred)
Previous warehouse experience is an asset
