Schedule: 4 x 10 | Floater | 3:30 AM - 6:00 AM starts

Position OverviewĀ 

The Class 5 Delivery Driver (Driver in Training) will work with the Transportation Training Specialist to learn all aspects and responsibilities of the role, including, but not limited to customer service, pre / post trip, safety and company policies, procedures and practices. In addition, the successful candidate will gain hands-on experience to become a Class 1 Delivery Service Representative.Ā This person is expected to obtain it's Class 1 Learner license within 3 months of hire and go through MELT program (at the cost of GFS) to become a Class 1 Local Delivery Driver in GFS.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesĀ 

This position will provide opportunities to learn the correct offloading of product from the vehicle, recording of delivery information, accepting payment (no cash) for goods when required, and ensuring overall vehicle safety. Upon completion of the training program, the Class 5 Delivery Driver will be expected to operate the delivery vehicle in a safe manner at all times, obeying all rules of the road, and follow all appropriate company policies and procedures.Ā 

Required Skills and Qualifications:Ā 

  • Ability to lift, load, push, pull and carry items up to 60 lbsĀ 

  • Valid Class 5 license

  • Ability to work independently as well as assist team members when necessaryĀ Ā 

  • Excellent communication and time management skillsĀ 

  • Safe operation of all equipmentĀ 

  • Strong work ethic and positive attitudeĀ 

  • Professional demeanor and customer service focusĀ 

  • Ability to excel in a fast paced, physically demanding positionĀ 

  • Be a team player and model the GFS Cornerstone ValuesĀ 

  • Consistent on-time attendanceĀ 

  • Availability for weekends and statutory holidays.
