Par contre, certaines personnes ont besoin de suppl\u00e9ments sp\u00e9cifiques pour combler leurs besoins en nutriments. Comment savoir si vous \u00eates cette personne ? Comment savoir si votre alimentation est suffisante ? De nos jours, il est difficile de savoir dans quelle direction aller avec ce que nous lisons et entendons dans les m\u00e9dias.<\/p>\n<h3>Qu'est-ce qu'un compl\u00e9ment alimentaire ?<\/h3>\n<p>Selon Sant\u00e9 Canada et la FDA, un compl\u00e9ment alimentaire est un produit destin\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00eatre ing\u00e9r\u00e9 qui contient un \u201cingr\u00e9dient alimentaire\u201d destin\u00e9 \u00e0 ajouter une valeur nutritionnelle suppl\u00e9mentaire au r\u00e9gime alimentaire (compl\u00e9ment). Un \u201cingr\u00e9dient alimentaire\u201d peut \u00eatre l'une des substances suivantes ou toute combinaison de celles-ci : vitamine, min\u00e9ral, herbe ou autre plante et acide amin\u00e9. Ils ne contiennent pas de calories et ne peuvent pas remplacer les nutriments et les bienfaits apport\u00e9s par les aliments. Les aliments ne vous apportent pas seulement des vitamines et des min\u00e9raux, mais aussi de l'\u00e9nergie provenant des glucides, des lipides et des prot\u00e9ines.  Saviez-vous que la vitamine B aide \u00e0 convertir l'\u00e9nergie provenant de ces composants alimentaires en un type d'\u00e9nergie utilisable par votre corps ?<\/p>\n<p>Les fruits et l\u00e9gumes contiennent une grande vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de micronutriments (vitamines et min\u00e9raux) et de macronutriments (prot\u00e9ines, lipides, glucides tels que les fibres). Par exemple, un poivron rouge ne contient pas seulement de la vitamine C. Il contient \u00e9galement de la vitamine A, de la vitamine B6, du magn\u00e9sium et du potassium.
