C\u2019est ce qui s\u2019est produit pour la <a href=\"https:\/\/kitchendoor.ca\/\">Kitchen Door Food Company<\/a> au premier jour du confinement en Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse.<\/p>\n<p>La fondatrice de l\u2019entreprise, Patty Howard, s\u2019est r\u00e9invent\u00e9e avant m\u00eame que l\u2019expression ne devienne un clich\u00e9 en ces temps de pand\u00e9mie. En une semaine, elle a transform\u00e9 son entreprise gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un plan de survie comprenant les biscuits Yo-Yo, une bi\u00e8re inusit\u00e9e et des cours de cuisine en ligne.<\/p>\n<p>Avant la pand\u00e9mie, la majorit\u00e9 de ses revenus provenait de son service de traiteur. En effet, environ 75 % de ses profits d\u00e9coulaient de mariages, d\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nements sociaux et corporatifs et de la livraison en entreprise. Ces sources de revenus ont disparu en mars 2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abNous avons rapidement r\u00e9alis\u00e9 que nos r\u00e9serves \u00e9taient \u00e0 sec\u00bb, se souvient Patty. Elle a d\u00fb passer de 35 employ\u00e9s \u00e0 temps plein et 20 employ\u00e9s \u00e0 temps partiel \u00e0 quatre seulement. \u00abNous avons fait de la vente au t\u00e9l\u00e9phone pendant une semaine. Patty conna\u00eet depuis longtemps l\u2019importance d\u2019avoir des sources de revenus diversifi\u00e9es. Pour compenser les p\u00e9riodes creuses du service de traiteur, elle vendait des plats frais et surgel\u00e9s \u00e0 son magasin de Dartmouth.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abPeu d\u2019entreprises sont demeur\u00e9es ouvertes pendant le confinement, alors nous avons commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 cuisiner, dit-elle. Au d\u00e9part, les restaurants qui ont emprunt\u00e9 cette avenue ont connu beaucoup de difficult\u00e9s. Il manquait d\u2019emballages et les gens ne savaient pas vraiment comment faire la production et s\u2019assurer que \u00e7a fonctionnerait chez les clients.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Kitchen Door had all of its packaging and labeling in place, as well as clear instructions on how customers could prepare the food at home. Heureusement, leur popularit\u00e9 s\u2019est accrue, surtout gr\u00e2ce aux \u00e9v\u00e9nements priv\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abLorsque les gens ont r\u00e9alis\u00e9 que les choses ne reviendraient pas \u00e0 la normale de sit\u00f4t, les entreprises ont commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 chercher des moyens de renforcer l\u2019esprit d\u2019\u00e9quipe \u00e0 distance, et nous avons commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 faire des \u00e9v\u00e9nements\u00bb, raconte Patty.<\/p>\n<p>Un \u00e9v\u00e9nement organis\u00e9 par Doctors Nova Scotia, un organisme m\u00e9dical \u00e0 but non lucratif, a r\u00e9uni 156 personnes. R\u00e9parties en groupes de six, ces derni\u00e8res ont pr\u00e9par\u00e9 des repas \u00e0 partager avec l\u2019aide d\u2019un animateur.<\/p>\n<p>Ensuite, les cours ont \u00e9t\u00e9 offerts selon deux formules : les r\u00e9sidents locaux recevaient les ingr\u00e9dients n\u00e9cessaires livr\u00e9s par Kitchen Door, et les participants \u00e9loign\u00e9s recevaient une liste d\u2019\u00e9picerie. The company that created the cookie for the Canadian market is based in Prince Edward Island packages and \u00a0sells them through many retailers like Kitchen Door\u2019s specialty retail shop. Une ancienne employ\u00e9e ayant ouvert une garderie pour chiens a compris l\u2019importance de la vente au d\u00e9tail. Elle a donc mijot\u00e9 un bouillon d\u2019os, qu\u2019elle a appel\u00e9 \u00abbi\u00e8re pour chiens\u00bb, et cr\u00e9\u00e9 Crafty Beast Brewing Co. Pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 la demande, elle a demand\u00e9 l\u2019aide de Patty.<\/p>\n<p>Le produit est fabriqu\u00e9 selon le principe d\u2019un restaurant virtuel.
