Use this checklist to make sure you are doing your part:<\/p>\n<p><strong>SAFETY FOR TAKEOUT\/PICKUP &amp; DELIVERY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Educate Staff:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have signage to explain your safety procedures<\/li>\n<li>Stress to employees the importance of staying home if sick<\/li>\n<li>Wear disposable gloves to protect employees and customers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Secure the Entry and Communicate Flow:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Remove candy, mint and toothpick dispensers near cashier station<\/li>\n<li>Provide alcohol-based hand sanitizers for public use<\/li>\n<li>Limit number of people inside store<\/li>\n<li>Communicate the flow of pickup and ordering to your customers by signs or staff members directing traffic<\/li>\n<li>Try using visual markers, signs, tape on the floor, etc. to communicate safe social distancing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Focus on Cleaning:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increase frequency of sanitizing for counters near the cash register<\/li>\n<li>Sanitize door handles, touchpads and pickup shelves more frequently<\/li>\n<li>Use only disposable wipes and discard after use<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Utilize disposables:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Remove napkin, straw and condiment dispensers from public areas<\/li>\n<li>Consider wrapped cutlery packets (with salt\/pepper\/napkins) and wrapped straws<\/li>\n<li>If using a laminated menu, wipe it after each customer use<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Offer Convenience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Offer curbside pickup for call-ahead orders<\/li>\n<li>Seal bags\/boxes that leave for delivery<\/li>\n<li>Clean insulated delivery bags before each use<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Monitor the Bathroom:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Discuss limiting restrooms to staff use only if necessary<\/li>\n<li>Keep stocked with toilet paper, paper hand towels, soap and hand sanitizer<\/li>\n<li>Create a schedule for cleaning and replenishing restroom supplies<\/li>\n<li>Put a waste can near the door for disposal of paper towels after opening the door<\/li>\n<li>Install a foot plate or toe pull for hands-free door opening&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Restaurants can reduce COVID-19 risks with simple steps.
